The 2025/26 season began with a disappointing 0-0 draw at home against Stockton Town.
The match was challenging, with the full league debts of two new players, Tom Scully and James Steele, hanging in the balance. Stockton Town played with ten men for a lot of the second half, giving Cables a chance to score, but their goalkeeper made crucial saves in the final ten minutes, denying them a victory.
